My on-the-go essential oil stash!

When you start using essential oils, I can guarantee that you will carry at least one essential oil with you at all times. In fact, I carry about 5-6 Young Living essential oils with me at all times (no, they don’t take up much space). They change slightly from time to time…mostly depending on the season and what our plans might be that day. Here’s my most recent on-the-go stash of oils.

ESSENTIAL OIL ON THE GO STASH

Lemon, Lime, or Orange oil: I almost always carry a citrus oil with me. A couple drops of Young Living’s Lemon, Lime, or Orange oil in some water makes for a refreshing, and good for you beverage. Plus, a little secret…if we go out for drinks, I’ll bring my Lime oil with me. Bar limes are so small, but a drop of Lime oil sure makes for a good vodka tonic. My hubby will even ask for the Lime oil if we go out! :)

Peppermint oil: Peppermint oil is my go to oil for digestive support. Plus, it doubles as a breath freshener. Win, win!

Lavender oil: Lavender is one of the most versatile and gentle essential oils. When I am in doubt, I use Lavender.

Breathe Again oil: This roll-on has been a new addition to on-the-go oil stash. I roll Breathe Again under my nose and across my sinuses (as needed).

Thieves oil: Thieves is my go to oil to support my immune and respiratory system. At work, I like to make Thieves tea – a mug of hot water, an optional tea bag (I like green tea or chamomile tea), honey to taste, 1 drop of Young Living Thieves essential oil, and 2-3 drops Young Living Lemon essential oil (which as stated above, is also often part of my on-the-go oil stash).

An oil for occasional stress and nervousness (Tranquil, Peace & Calming, or Stress Away): Lavender oil (which I always have with me as stated above) is calming and relaxing. However, I also apply Tranquil, Peace & Calming, or Stress Away roll-on to my wrists so that I can stay cool, calm, and collected throughout the day.

V-6 oil (carrier oil): On occasion, I carry a small amount of V-6 carrier oil in a little glass squirt bottle I found at a local health food store. That way, I can dilute some of my oils for topical application.

On-the-go oiling accessories —>

I have a cute little essential oil zip pouch that I store my on-the-go stash of oils in (thanks to my friend, Angie, who bought it for me). This pouch is go great because…

  • it is laminated, which makes it waterproof and easy to wipe.
  • elastic is sewn onto the lining making 8 spots available for the oils to be held into place!
  • it has boxed corners, which allows it to stand on its own.
  • it is sturdy – not floppy or flimsy!
  • the print is fun!
  • it is reasonably priced.

Cedarwood Essential Oil: A Natural and Inexpensive Way to Promote Restful Sleep

I finally got my hands on some Young Living Cedarwood essential oil about a month ago (it was sold out for a while) and let me just say that I LOVE THIS OIL! After hearing other’s testimonials, I bought Cedarwood oil because it is used to promote relaxation. Therefore, I figured that it would be a great oil to help promote a restful night’s sleep.  Let me just say that I am loving this oil! I have been a light sleeper my whole life. I can be sound asleep and if my hubby turns on the light in another room, I am awake almost immediately. I can’t sleep soundly if the TV is on and I definitely can’t sleep if my husband is snoring (and he usually is). I sleep so lightly that I have to sleep with ear plugs in every single night!

Cedarwood to Promote Restful Sleep

Here’s how I promote a more restful night’s sleep with Cedarwood essential oil:

For the last few weeks, I have been massaging a drop or two of Cedarwood essential oil to the bottom of each foot before I go to bed. Ever since I started doing this, I am sleeping more soundly. I even slept well the night before I started my new job! Yup…AMAZING!

BARGAIN! For 9 cents a night or $2.81 a month, I am sleeping more soundly with Cedarwood essential oil.

Cedarwood oil is even one heck of a bargain. Anyone that knows me, knows that I just love a bargain (I was even one of those crazy couponers for a while…yeah, the kind with a stockpile). As a Wholesale Member of Young Living, I can purchase a 15 ml bottle of Cedarwood for $11.25. A 15 ml bottle of essential oil contains about 250 drops. At 1 drop of Cedarwood oil per foot per night, a bottle of Cedarwood will last just over 4 months (and cost as little as $2.81 a month or 9 cents a night). GET YOUR OWN OILS

Super Simple DIY Essential Oil Sugar Scrub

I go for a run most days of the week and as a result, my feet needed a little TLC today. To pamper my feet, I whipped up a batch of my homemade sugar scrub – which I obviously infused with essential oils. I just love using this stuff on my worn out and callused feet! I posted the recipe below so you can make your own sugar scrub.

Sugar Scrub Recipe

You will need:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/8+ cup coconut oil (you can also use Young Living V-6 oil or any other seed based vegetable based oil)
  • 25 drops of your favorite Young Living essential oil
  • 8 ounce mason jar

To make:

  1. add 1 cup granulated sugar to a small mixing bowl
  2. add 1/8+ cup coconut oil to the sugar, mix well
  3. add about 25 drops of essential oil, mix well
  4. transfer the mixture to an 8 ounce mason jar

*add little more coconut oil if you want your sugar scrub to have a slightly smoother consistency

To use:

  • wet your feet with warm water
  • massage your feet with a small amount of the sugar scrub
  • rinse your feet with warm water
  • follow-up by moisturizing your feet with your homemade essential oil lotion bars

Ta-da!

You’ll be amazed at how smooth, soft, and refreshed your feet will feel. You can save your sugar scrub for yourself or give it to someone as a gift!
