Hard sided aluminum essential oil carrying case (with optional add-on keychain case) – safely and easily organize, store, and move all your oils from place to place!

Hard Sided Aluminum Essential Oil Case with Keychain

In some situations, you might want to tuck your essential oils away in one safe place. Maybe you have kids and you need to keep your oils up and out of their reach (a case like this is easy to move to and take off of a shelf). Or, you might travel a lot with your family (think summer weekend camping trips) and want to easily take your whole arsenal of essential oils with you. This hard sided essential oil case makes it super easy to safely store your essential oils and move them around from place to place. This aluminum case is 7 x 10 inches and has a foam insert that holds 32 (15 ml) and 8 (5 ml) bottles of essential oil. One side is textured and one smooth for stickers or embellishments. To keep your kiddos and oils extra safe, this case locks and includes 2 keys. For an additional charge, this case can be personalized in the inside with your choice of fabric and thread for a monograph. Hot or cold neck and shoulder rice wrap – it will intensify the effectiveness of your essential oil application!

Hot and Cold Rice Essential Oil Pad

Hot and cold rice packs and wraps (which you store in the freezer or heat up in the microwave) are pretty common on Etsy. However, this neck and shoulder rice wrap is unique and unlike most others that I have seen. I really like the design of this wrap because it will stay put and provide relief even if you move around a little bit. You can also lay this flat for use on the lower back or other muscles. Massaging an essential oil to the occasional sore neck and shoulders is already quite effective. If you add a heat wrap like this one, you can intensify the effectiveness and really loosen up those muscles. This is definitely worth the money! You can purchase this one of a kind hot and cold rice wrap from BlueBellBoutiqueTN (a store on Etsy) – other colors and patterns available.

Help! I Got Essential Oil In My Eye!

Today when I was getting ready, I grabbed the Young Living Frankincense essential oil bottle because I wanted to apply some to my face (because Frankincense oil is good for your skin and complexion). Good idea? Yes! However, my not so brilliant idea was to take the bottle and drop the Frankincense oil directly on my forehead (versus putting a drop or two on my finger tips and then rubbing that on my face). As you can probably guess, it dripped down my forehead and I got essential oil in my eye! And yes, it stung! However, I want you to know that panicking isn’t necessary. I simply took a little carrier oil (like Young Living’s V-6 oil or olive oil) and massaged some of that around and in my eye. All better! No blindness, no blurry vision, no redness, no puffiness, and no more discomfort. :) For more detail, it’s all explained in the short video below.

Healthy Smoothie Recipe: Banana Pumpkin Spiced Smoothie – YUM!

Healthy Smoothie Recipe: Banana Pumpkin Spiced Smoothie

Oh my gosh…I made the most delicious smoothie! Banana pumpkin spiced….it tasted sooo good AND it is sooo good for you! My hubby said this was his favorite out of all the smoothies I have made him. If you like Starbucks pumpkin spiced latte, you need to try this. Here is my healthy smoothie recipe (makes roughly 2 cups):

  • 1 cup vanilla almond milk (or vanilla soymilk; or regular milk with a small amount of vanilla extract)
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cup 100% canned pumpkin
  • 1 drop Young Living Nutmeg essential oil (if you’re not comfortable ingesting your oils, then use a little regular baking Nutmeg instead)
  • 2 Tablespoons flaxseed (optional)
  • a little swirl of agave nectar (to taste)
  • 3-5 ice cubes
  • sprinkle of cinnamon on top (I tried using Young Living’s Cinnamon Bark essential oil one day, but even one drop was too strong so stick to regular cinnamon spice)

If you have a terrible working blender like I do, you may need to add 1-2 ingredients at a time or you will clog it up! I so need that Nutribullet thing everyone is talking about!

Changes to the Young Living Everyday Oils Collection and Premium Starter Kit

Changes to the Young Living Premium Starter Kit

If you haven’t heard the latest Young Living essential oils news, here it is…

On November 17, the Young Living Everyday Oils Collection will be tweaked and updated (this change only affects the United States). Peace & Calming and Valor will be replaced with Melaleuca Alternifolia and Stress Away oil. This change will also affect the Premium Starter Kit (as the Premium Starter Kit contains the Everyday Oils Collection). Additionally, the Stress Away that currently comes in the Premium Starter Kit will be replaced with Citrus Fresh (since Stress Away will now be part of the Everyday Oils Collection). The cost of the Everyday Oils Collection and the Premium Starter Kit will remain the same. This change is still one heck of a way to start your essential oil journey. Stress Away is a natural replacement for Peace & Calming, as it has similar properties and benefits. Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree oil) is highly regarded for its wide range of daily uses and its benefits to the skin. This change should improve the general availability of Valor and Peace and Calming essential oil blend. We will now be allowed to purchase two 5-ml bottles each of Valor and Peace & Calming per account, per month. Wahoo!

*When this change launches on November 17, there will be some overlap in the supply of classic and new Everyday Oils Collection as well as the classic and New Premium Starter Kit. This means that you may receive one or the other until the classic collections have run out. As the item numbers will be the same, you will not be able to specify which collection you would prefer to receive.

Homemade Body Butter Recipe with Young Living Essential Oils

HOMEMADE BODY BUTTER

I recently found an article that listed some of the dangerous and toxic things in our body products. This prompted me to pay more attention to the ingredient list on some of our body products at home. It didn’t take me long to realize that I had no clue what I was putting on my skin! Then I started thinking about how I need to be even more active when it comes to “bottle swapping.” “Bottle swapping” is the practice of replacing the toxic bottles of body products (and cleaning products) we have in our home with more natural and non toxic products that will help bring our body back into balance. While Scott was gone on a hunting trip this past weekend, I mixed up my very first batch of homemade body butter (I’ve made lotion bars before, but never body butter/lotion). Let me just say…this stuff is amazing and it smells superb! Oh yeah…and did I mention that it only took me about 10 minutes to make?!

Here’s how I made my own body butter…

1) In a glass mixing bowl, combine:

  • 1/2 cup coconut oil.
  • 2 Tablespoons Young Living V-6 oil (or other liquid vegetable oil, which promotes skin health). A liquid oil like V-6 will keep the consistency of this lotion smooth (as coconut oil is solid at room temperature).
  • 1/2 teaspoon vitamin E oil (optional).
  • 10-15 drops (adjust based on your preference) of your favorite Young Living essential oil (or combo of essential oils).  Try Lavender, Purification, or Frankincense (all which come in the Premium Starter Kit).

2) Use a hand mixer and mix the above ingredients together until it is thoroughly blended and the consistenceny is smooth.

3) Transfer the mixture to a shallow 4-8 ounce mason jar for easy storing. Ta-da! This recipe seriously took me only about 10 minutes make!

*Make sure you give this a little time to soak into your skin…it does feel a little oily at first, but that does go away.

I Even Converted My Husband to an Essential Oil User

Essential Oils for Men

My hubby went on a hunting trip this weekend and as he was getting ready to head out the door on Friday morning, I was rattling through a “do you have everything” checklist. On the top of that checklist was some of his most used Young Living essential oils. Yes, I have actually converted my outdoorsy, sports loving husband to a full-blown essential oil user!  And it didn’t even take very long. Why? Because these oils work!

Here’s how far I actually converted my hubby…

As I was writing this, I started thinking how far I had actually converted my hubby to the essential oil world. Here are just a few examples. :)

  • My husband uses oils all the time now without me saying “Hey, use an oil for that!”
  • This week, Scott actually picked up my essential oils reference guide and started looking up a few things and oil specific information on his own.
  • Two nights ago, I asked my husband if he wanted me to order anything specific for him on my Young Living Essential Rewards order and he gave me a whole list – Cypress, Purification, Joy, Eucalyptus, Thieves, V-6, and winter scent for the diffuser…I think there might have been a few others requests in there (or at least oils he checked our stock of).
  • Scott has his own essential oil diffuser in the basement (aka – his man cave) and he diffuses oils daily. He has a whole stash of oils sitting by the diffuser.
