Cedarwood Essential Oil: A Natural and Inexpensive Way to Promote Restful Sleep

I finally got my hands on some Young Living Cedarwood essential oil about a month ago (it was sold out for a while) and let me just say that I LOVE THIS OIL! After hearing other’s testimonials, I bought Cedarwood oil because it is used to promote relaxation. Therefore, I figured that it would be a great oil to help promote a restful night’s sleep.  Let me just say that I am loving this oil! I have been a light sleeper my whole life. I can be sound asleep and if my hubby turns on the light in another room, I am awake almost immediately. I can’t sleep soundly if the TV is on and I definitely can’t sleep if my husband is snoring (and he usually is). I sleep so lightly that I have to sleep with ear plugs in every single night!

Cedarwood to Promote Restful Sleep

Here’s how I promote a more restful night’s sleep with Cedarwood essential oil:

For the last few weeks, I have been massaging a drop or two of Cedarwood essential oil to the bottom of each foot before I go to bed. Ever since I started doing this, I am sleeping more soundly. I even slept well the night before I started my new job! Yup…AMAZING!

BARGAIN! For 9 cents a night or $2.81 a month, I am sleeping more soundly with Cedarwood essential oil.

Cedarwood oil is even one heck of a bargain. Anyone that knows me, knows that I just love a bargain (I was even one of those crazy couponers for a while…yeah, the kind with a stockpile). As a Wholesale Member of Young Living, I can purchase a 15 ml bottle of Cedarwood for $11.25. A 15 ml bottle of essential oil contains about 250 drops. At 1 drop of Cedarwood oil per foot per night, a bottle of Cedarwood will last just over 4 months (and cost as little as $2.81 a month or 9 cents a night). GET YOUR OWN OILS

Learn how I got a bunch of free essential oils through the Young Living Essential Rewards program!

I have been enrolled in Young Living’s Essential Rewards program since January. I LOVE the Essential Rewards program because I had $132 of FREE money built up from it and I just cashed most of it in for a bunch of stuff! Seriously, all I did was pay for shipping. You can see all the great stuff I got below!

What is the Essential Rewards (ER) program?

Essential Rewards (ER) is a program that is available to Wholesale Members of Young Living. ER is an optional monthly auto-ship program, where I specify the Young Living products I want to order and amount I want to spend each month. The only requirement of ER is that I am willing to buy at least 50 PV worth of Young Living product each month. The PV is listed next to each item when placing an order and 50 PV is worth about $50. For a regular oil user, 50 PV isn’t difficult to spend and isn’t much (especially when you think about all of the over the counter products that essential oils replace). ER offers reduced shipping rates and an opportunity to earn points back to spend on other products. During the first six consecutive months of participating in the ER program, you receive points worth 10 percent of the PV of each ER order. For example, if 100 PV is ordered during the month, 10 PV is earned back to use on other products (10 PV is usually worth $10). During the second six consecutive months, you receive points worth 15 percent of the PV of each ER order. At 13 months and beyond, you receive points worth 20 percent of the PV of each ER order.

Essential Rewards - I GOT A BUNCH OF FREE STUFF!

Look at all the FREE essential oils I got with my Essential Reward points!

Young Living Tranquil essential oil blend (roll-on): Tranquil is an oil I haven’t tried before. Tranquil is a blend of Lavender, Cedarwood, and Roman Chamomile essential oil. I bought it for its calming and relaxing properties. Tranquil is already diluted with coconut oil and comes in a roller bottle so that I can easily apply it to my temples, neck, or wrists as needed. I am so excited to try Tranquil because I think it will be a great oil to apply when I am feeling occasional stress (which I am likely to experience tomorrow as I start a new job).

Young Living Ruta Vala essential oil blend (roll-on): Ruta Vala is a blend of Ruta Graveolens, Valerian, and Lavender essential oil in a coconut oil base. Like Tranquil, Ruta Vala is an essential oil I haven’t used before and also an oil I bought for its calming and relaxing properties. Ruta Vala can also promote a good night’s sleep. Ruta Vala is an oil blend I plan to use at night when I am trying to wind down from a busy day at work. I like that it is in a roller bottle so I can just roll it right on to my temples, neck, or wrists as needed. I wonder which I’ll like better…Tranquil or Ruta Vala? :)

Young Living RC essential oil blend (2 bottles): RC essential oil blend came back in stock last week. RC is on my list of 5 must have essential oils for the upcoming winter months. When RC came back in stock, I knew I better jump on it before it sold out. RC is so popular that I ordered two bottles because I know how difficult it may be to get when the colder weather rolls around. RC is a blend of Eucalyptus Globulus, Myrtle, Pine, Marjoram, Eucalyptus Radiata, Eucalyptus Citriodora, Lavender, Cypress, Tsuga, and Peppermint essential oil. When diffused or applied topically, RC essential oil blend can feel invigorating to the chest and throat area – perfect for the upcoming cold winter months!

Young Living Breathe Again essential oil blend (roll-on): I ordered Breathe Again essential oil blend earlier this month as part of my Essential Rewards order. Like RC, Breathe Again is also on my list of 5 must have essential oils for the upcoming winter months. I wanted to be sure I had enough Breathe Again on hand so I ordered a back up bottle. Breathe Again is a blend of Eucalyptus Staigeriana, Eucalyptus Globulus, Laurel, Rose Hip, Peppermint, Eucalyptus Radiata, Copaiba, Myrtle, Manuka, and Eucalyptus Blue essential oil in a coconut oil base. I just love applying Breathe Again underneath my nose and across my sinuses!
